Insofar as personal data is collected on our web pages (for example, name, address or email addresses), then this will be voluntary whenever possible. This data will not be disclosed to third parties without your express consent.
When you register with MyVDT, we collect the data in the content management system of our website and export the data from the website to our local database for further processing. This is required to, among other things, offer VDT members better rates for our events.
The database stores and processes user information in compliance with the applicable provisions of the German Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the German Telemedia Act (TMG).
The user agrees that their personal data may be collected, processed and used for membership management and registering for events.
The website will not disclose personal data to third parties. Excluded are the VDT offices, where membership management is concerned, and the Bildungswerk des VDT, should you sign up for a VDT event. In these cases, the scope of the transmitted data is limited to the minimum required.
The user is entitled to request information on their stored data and to request correction, blocking and—to the extent legally possible (retention periods)—deletion thereof. Furthermore, the user is entitled to request information on the status of their stored data by e-mail at: email@example.com. Insofar as there is a statutory or contractual obligation to retain the data, said data will be blocked instead of deleted.
The user‘s personal information will be kept confidential and in particular not disclosed for the purpose of advertising or market and opinion research.
Storing access data
Insofar as the website provides the option to supply personal or business data (email addresses, names, addresses), then any disclosure of this data by the user is entirely voluntary. This data will also be treated as confidential and not shared with third parties.
The user is entitled to receive information free of charge about their personal data kept on file. In addition, you are entitled within the legal framework to have this personal data corrected, blocked or deleted.

Deactivating cookies can reduce this website‘s functionality. For example, you will no longer be able to log in to your personal MyVDT area.

This data cannot be attributed to identifiable persons. This data is not combined with other data sources. We reserve the right to subsequently inspect this data if we have a concrete indication of illegal use.
If you use the contact form for enquiries, the details you provided in the form, including the contact details you supplied, will be used to process your enquiry and stored in the event of follow-up questions. We will not disclose this data without your consent.
This website uses SSL encryption for security reasons and to transmit confidential content, such as enquiries you send to us as the website operators. You can tell that the connection is encrypted when your browser‘s address bar changes from "http://" to "https://" and displays a lock icon.
Once SSL encryption is activated, third parties will not be able to read the data you transmit to us.
Objection to advertising emails
We hereby object to the use of the contact details published under the German legal requirements to send unsolicited advertising and information. The operators of these web pages expressly reserve the right to take legal action to counter unsolicited advertising information, such as spam emails.

This is without prejudice to obligations to remove or block the use of information in accordance with applicable laws. However, liability for this does not arise until we become aware of a specific infringement. Once corresponding infringements become known, we will remove the relevant content immediately.
Liability for links
Our web pages contain links to external, third-party websites with content which is beyond our control. For this reason, we cannot assume any liability for said third-party content. The respective provider or operator of the linked websites is responsible for those websites. The linked websites were examined for possible infringements at the time we linked to them. No illegal content was identifiable at that time.
However, it is not reasonable to permanently monitor the content of the linked websites without a specific indication of infringement. Once infringements become known, we will remove the relevant links immediately.
